This game is, by far, one of THE most anticipated sequels since people uttered the words "Street Fighter II". It is one of the largest games ever, clocking in at 202 megs, 84 more megs than the first SS. You all want to know about the game, so let's get to it! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- OLD THINGS/NEW THINGS -->Characters that have returned: CHARLOTTE, NAKORURU, HAOHMARU, UKYO TACHIBANA, GEN-AN SHIRANUI, GALFORD, JUBEI YAGYU, KYOSHIRO SENRYO, HANZO HATTORI, EARTHQUAKE. -->Characters that are new: KIBAGAMI GENJURO, CAFFEINE NICOTINE, CHAM CHAM (with her monkey PAKU PAKU), NEINHALT SEIGER. -->TAM TAM is gone (let's have a moment of silence, please). I feel something bad." "I slay my imitation with my sword together with Mt. Fuji!" With a taste for blood and cheap rice wine, this samurai celebrity is known for his unparalleled swordsmanship and his whirlwind speed (Heh, heh, heh). Weapon: The Fugu Blade Alma Mater: Self-Taught Age: 25 Birthplace: Musashinokuni, Japan Misc. Info: Haohmaru (1584-1645) is based on Miyamoto Musashi (playing off off Haohmaru's birthplace), the classic model of the samurai. Musashi was a ronin when he was young, roaming the countryside and testing his skills against various opponents. His religion was "The Way of the Sword", in which he hoped to gain enlightenment through perfect mental control and physical skill. This goal came at the expense of everything else, even love (this might explain Haohmaru's ending in SS1) and personal appearance (which might explain Haohmaru's haircut). Musashi carried, and sometimes used, two swords, although Haohmaru only has one. He also eventually became a samurai of the Hasokawa daimyo, which had previously employed his rival Genryu earlier. Despite his famous martial prowess, Musashi gradually came to believe that enlightenment could also be achieved through the arts as well, and he became a notable painter and woodsculptor. He left a famous book on the art of swordfighting, "The Book of Five Rings", that (curiously enough) has been used to advise businessmen today how to become better competitors! He has set out on his journey to find the perfect bouquet for his beloved Kei Odagiri. Weapon: The Blade of Narcissus Alma Mater: Jinmuso Surgeons College Age: 24 Birthplace: Umasugimura, Koga, Omi, Japan Misc. Info: Ukyo (?-1612) is based on Sasaki Kojiro Genryu, Musashi's skilled rival. Genryu (probably the source for "Gairyu Isle") wielded a VERY long sword called the "Drying Pole". He was reputed to be the most skilled swordsman around, and could slice swallows in mid-air (hence Ukyo's "swoop swallow slice"). Nevertheless, Musashi killed him in one blow (two, according to some accounts). In the first exchange, Musashi hit Ukyo in the head with the butt of his sword, a sword he had carved in the boat on the way to the island. Just like Ukyo and Haohmaru, Musashi and Genryu fought on an isle off of the coast of Japan, and Musashi showed up late for the duel as a psychological tactic (this could explain why Ukyo and Haohmaru are at the same place, but totally different times). Yagyu Muneyoshi was a samurai reknown for his skill with the sword and his general samurai prowness. His son, Yagyu Munenori became the personal sword instructor of the Tokugawa shoguns. The son of Munenori was Yagyu Jubei Mitsuyoshi, who also started out as the shogun's sword instructor but was dismissed for unclear reasons. It was rumored that this was actually a cover for Jubei to go on covert missions for the shogun or the emperor (hence his nickname, "The Emperor's Secret Servant"). Because of this, popular legend holds that Jubei actually became a sort of samurai-ninja. He is often depicted with an eyepatch, said to be the result of a childhood punishment.
