Wow. That was a lot of words that begin with F. Anyway, I've seen this trailer like six times today, and decided to share the wealth with everyone here.

Holy amazing, Batman! Why can't they release this for a system I own?!

I spotted the main villains from FF I, II, III, VI, VII, VIII, IX, and techncially X (The tag said there was ExDeath from V, but I couldn't tell) and the main characters from II, III (amazingly), VIII, IX (Zidane is my hero), and X (I thought I saw Locke, but apparently it was just Frionel?). I will be very disappointed if Paladin Cecil, Reina, Celes (or Terra or Locke or any combination), and uh... Cloud? don't make it in eventually.

Epicness!

Well...there is a scan out of Cecil, so he is definitely in. And most people think that they see Terra in the opening sequence when all the heroes are lined up with the thunderstorm thingie in the crystals. And you missed one of the Warriors of Light.

Ah ha, I wasn't paying attention to the labels the first time I saw the Light Warrior.

Hmm, the website seems to present protagonists and antagonists in pairs, so considering that Kefka's in there, that should mean that one of the FFVI characters is there. I suppose the logical one would be Terra to counter Kefka, and I suppose she is technically the main character even though Celes sort of steals the spotlight from her as you progress. In any case, the roster could benfit from a female protagonist. The same argument fits for Cloud, since Sephiroth is there. Somehow I can't see Sephiroth as part of a villain "group," but whatever.

Also, if Cecil's in it, then I guess that means Zemus/Zeromus would be there. That leaves the matter of FFV (and XII?), which I can't imagine they'd snub. Reina would even add another female, which they need anyway (so would Ashe, technically...).

I'm really curious to see how they're going to work a plotline with this. Obviously it's some sort of alternate timeline business, but I wonder how they intend to resolve issues like the FF8 twist that
Spoiler:
Ultemecia is actually Rinoa
or the whole FFX weirdness that
Spoiler:
neither Tidus nor his father are real.
It also leaves one to wonder if Terra's whole
Spoiler:
"hey guys, I'm half-Esper!"
thing would even come into play.

Okay, now I've demonstrated that I know way too much about Final Fantasy, so it's time to do work.

Actually, on youtube, they have a subtitled version of the trailer in which Kefka makes a reference to a "her." Now, since this is not .hack, he cannot be talking about Mia, so that obviously leaves only Terra and Celes. Both have rather interesting histories with Kefka, and if I remember correctly (I haven't played in some time so...), hates both of them with more intensity than he normally hates someone, before he
Spoiler:
becomes a god
And Cloud will most definitely be the FFVII hero just because. He's too popular not to include.

The real twist comes with the FFIV villian as most people would assume its Zeromus because he is the true evil being and final boss i.e. Cloud of Darkness. However, that same scan with Cecil has the villian
Spoiler:
being not Zeromus but his own brother Golbez

What a weird-looking game. It's like a tactical fighting RPG.

Regarding FFIV, I would be very disappointed if
Spoiler:
Golbez were the villain, because he was just under mind control for the whole time, iirc.
Well, not very disappointed, because I'm not super-attached to it. And I guess Kuja is the FFIX villain and not what's his face guy with the Grand Cross attack.

Actually, I'm wondering if they intend to include any of the supporting characters. I'd think that they'd have to limit it if they did, because the cast is, like, Kingdom Hearts size.

I'm gonna go find that subtitled one now...
