"The Last Airbender" Teaser

This is a terrible teaser, unless it's only purpose was to be "O HAI GUYZ, AVATAR MOVIE." Also, iirc, the scene in this teaser isn't close to anything that happened in the show? Ah well, there's a whole year to go, and you can't judge a movie by the trailer...

For all the fuss about it, I'm not sure I actually care about their casting decisions.

You're quite right about the trailer. I find it kind of hard to believe that that trailer would convince anyone who wasn't already planning to do so to watch the movie. It seemed so... devoid of content. I don't think it really matters that nothing like that scene was in the original show, as it can scarcely be called a scene at all. At least it confirmed that they're using the narrator from the series (that is him, right?).

It is just the teaser rather than a full trailer, though, and a lot of teasers have almost no context except to look cool and make people wonder what the fuck is going on enough to check out the real trailer later (or to reinforce the "hey I've seen this" feeling when they see the real trailer). Hopefully the full trailer will have more context.

As for the casting thing, I think this is pretty telling: http://penny-arcade.com/comic/2009/6/24/

You do realize that would make the movie even more amazing, right? :mrgreen:

You mean the "Previously, on Avatar" guy? Hmm, hard to say.

I liked the teaser, and I do think that people should calm down a little. :P

The teaser is okay, so I haven't lost hope, but using a pretty much all white cast for this is dumb.

I'm mostly being impatient. I don't want to have to wait a whole year for this! ^^;;

Tbh, I really don't think this is that big of a deal. I mean, at least Aang looked pretty authentic. I guess I'll wait and see.

At least you don't have to wait a year and a half for movies to finally show the conclusion to a series. *coughEdenoftheEastcough*
