Let me first throw some opponents at you: 1. Dogs ...discussed extensively. Wolves/Foxes/ 2. Tigers/Lions/Cheetas/Leopards/Panthers 3. Bears 4. Hawks/Eagles/Falcons/Birds of Prey 5. Bulls 6. Elephants 7. Gorillas 8. Kangaroos 9. Snake(Small poisonous ones and Big Pythons) 10. Robots 11. Cars 12. Aliens(Both the big head ones that wacked out people draw and the one in the movie of the same name) I suppose there are two classes: the small annoying, pecking, biting ones and the big huge ones. The small ones are like a gang of rats, flocks of birds, swarm of bees. I would think then an art that trains for the fastest running and fastest hands to smack these critters are best. Now on to the real deal. The big guys. Dogs and Wolves: Single animals are well explored lately in r.m.a. What about packs of wolves out in open field? Tigers and Lions: Assuming that you cannot out run them and there are no trees to jump up onto, I'd give this one to the striking arts. The ones with good quick hand strikes. It's probably not a good idea to wrestle with a Tiger if you can help it. Stay and Iron Palm it's head. Quick side-steps and good solid palms, punches to it's head. I know one thing Lions and Tigers like to do is leap at with it's weight higher than yours so when it falls, it will have you clean under. Hell it'd be god-damn hard to stay on the guard for this one. Forget about armbars for sure... Bears: I have no idea. I'd give it to strike first, strike many and strike hard t their skull. They a wee-bit slower at leaping at you(still very very fast I suppose) so there is a little more safety of not have to be smothered down by it's weight. But if it gets on top of you, fight is pretty much one sided. What do you do then? Hawks: Um............Take away is flying advantage by grabbing and holding on to it? Turn it's back to you so the claws are not at work? Bull: Well many a stories of serious artists in the old days wacking a bull. Most of them are by striking at it's head. Definitely not a worry about being grappled by bull. Sidestep alot and strike. Thoughts? Elephants: Get on top of it and hit it's head? I suppose the number one concern is getting stomped or grabbed b it's nose. I know someone who was squished into a wall by an elephant's butt and, boy, it was definitely scary. Gorillas: Can you fight them like a human? They are damn mother heavy! How do gorillas fight? I've heard that they bit a lot and punches bad. Kangaroos: Um.........just out box them? uh.............they do kick a lot right? Snakes: Um...small ones fighting are for the acrobatic, fast running guys. Pythons: Er.................Go for the head and bash it and claw it? When a python wraps around you, are you taken to the ground most of the time? How does a python close the distance? I saw a feeding of a python once and I think it bites at the neck and then wrap it's entire body around? How do you fight that? Robots:(Human Size ones) Er...........I guess TKD might be good here with all those kicks. I envision a robot that's not very mobile and swings it's arms at you. So you can stay away an kick it.......er.........or something.........er...........nevermind....huh...uh... Cars: Jumping kicks through the windshield ! huh....huh..!!! TKD would be good! huh...huh......um....I guess.???????(assumming no running away) So which art is the best overall for the trials of life. For this mother earth. For the wild wild animal kingdom? Animals Kung Fu? Aikido? Karate? TKD? Capoerai? BJJ? Shootfighting? Greco-Roman? Hercules used Greco-Roman right?
