My Poster Collection (or How I Put Them Up)

Most random readers will be bored to tears by this page, and it's made worse by the fact that you can't actually see the posters. However, if you're at all interested in how I put my posters up, read on.

I'm a big fan of posters, especially anime posters, but I've been known to put up sci-fi, warplane, video game, and fantasy posters as well, not to mention the John Lennon ("Give peace a chance") poster I used to have (in my Cornell dorm room) adjacent to my Clint Eastwood ("Feelin' lucky, punk?") poster in which he is carrying four guns. Pretty pictures have always appealed to me, so posters are my ideal collectible--providing maximum image at minimal cost. Poster art has its own language--its own style of composition--that distinguishes it from cels, artbooks, animation, and other media.

The most impressive poster job I've ever seen was that of Mike "HaVoC" Yang, my former apartment-mate and CJAS sempai. On every wall and on the ceiling of his bedroom, he had awesome posters, many of them quite rare. Fellow CJAS-members Eddie Chen and Ayesha Sakura Ahmed are also quite good at postering.

Most of the posters I have are in my bedroom. Below is a wall-by-wall diagram showing my poster layout with descriptions of what each poster is. For an explanation of the different types of posters, you might want to read an article I wrote.

(Please note: this list has not been updated since mid-2004. It's only here for historical purposes)
