A tentative organization for this section is to categorize dictionary websites by input type for J->E searches: romaji, hiragana, and "Japanese", where the search word must be converted into the correct kanji, and verbs must be in the infinitive/"dictionary" tense. The logic behind this organization is that the extent to which translators can utilize dictionary sites (and just about any resource site) is their ability to input Japanese words. For the beginner, the romaji input dictionaries are essential, and people tend to transition to sites with more "demanding" input interfaces, mostly because dictionaries geared towards native speakers are more extensive. Another descriptor would be what range of services the specific site provides, such as J->E, E->J, J->J, Kanji, Idioms, etc. For multi-pronged sites, I suggest just listing their dictionary functions here, then making separate entries for other services offered by the sites in appropriate sections of this site to avoid clutter and redundancy. Maybe add tips for site usage as an optional category (or have tips be comments).
The list appears not to be sorted at present. The above seems to imply that it's intended that dictionaries be arranged in order of ease of use. Alphabetical might be simpler. Maybe a feature comparison table would be a good idea...
Yeah, when I wrote the paragraph, I figured there's no point in getting overly anal about "how" to sort the entries until there were enough entries to actually sort. ;x - runpsicat
Note: If the 'search word' in the above paragraph is replaced with 'search term', wiki dies
