CJAS has some exciting news for all fans of Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli!
While licensing costs are usually too expensive for us to show any of these films, a special touring series of new Studio Ghibli prints is coming to the Cornell Cinema this fall! CJAS will be co-sponsoring this series, so make sure you go and get your tickets!
More information on this special event after the jump.
This film series has been scheduled specifically so that there is a partial overlap with our showing schedule. So if you look at the fall semester schedule, you will see that on November 3rd, showing ends early so that we can go to the Cornell Cinema and watch Castle in the Sky. Then, next week on November 10th, we leave showing to view Spirited Away. These are Cornell Cinema showings, so you do still need to buy tickets, but CJAS will be working to find ways to minimize ticket prices for members.
In addition to these two screenings, there are several other screenings of these two movies (in case you can’t make it during showing) and there are three other Studio Ghibli films playing at various times in the cinema. These three films are Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, Princess Mononoke, and My Neighbor Totoro.
Please visit Cornell Cinema’s website at http://cinema.cornell.edu/index.php or view the page on the Miyazaki Film Series for more information on these other screenings.
